Tutoring explained
What does tutoring mean?
Tutoring is teaching aimed at one student’s actual gaps rather than at a syllabus timetable. A school lesson has to move at the pace of the class; a tutoring session moves at the pace of the child in it, so it can stop, go back three years, or spend a whole hour on one idea. In practice it usually means a weekly session, a short piece of work set in between, and somebody tracking whether what was weak last month is still weak.
